How to remove crackle paint effect from my trim?

Hi! I recently bought a new home. The woman before me was a bit ';crackle happy'; She covered each piece of trim in my house with the effect.





Anyone know how to remove it? Other than the painful awful paint stripper chemical? I am allergic. No I can not hire someone. I just bought a house and now I can not buy anything.

You are correct that you have to remove it. Any water-based paint put on to will likely cause it to crackle again. There are many new paint stripper products out there now that are fume-free or low odor. Ask your local big box paint dept. for suggestions.
